How do I go about writing an essay on digital art?

The essay is in relation to freedom. I chose to look at digital art. I was thinking I'd start with an introduction of what digital art is, going on to the history of digital art in the 50s/60s - perhaps then skip upto the 90s and use modern 'art'/artists. Through this essay I will write about Photoshop and other technology, while relating everything to freedom. Sorry, I'm panicking. I don't mean to put this question forward as a "do it for me" proposal, but does my process sound okay?

1. This sounds like a good plan of attack, my only concern is, how does that relate to freedom? I may not understand this because I am not too familiar with the subject, but other than that, the prganization of your paper seems good.
