what are the advantages and disadvantages of direct current in digital technilogy?

1. Its allmost all DC. any device used has a converter to change your 110 AC into DC. And any thing with a battery is DC
2. THere is almost no AC used in digial technology. If there is it will be some kind of signal which we are supposed to change into digital. AC is an analogue signal so why would anyone use AC in digital tech.
